Katy started out as wide open prairie, the hunting ground of the Karankawa Indian tribes, the winter feeding grounds of great herds of buffalo and large flocks of wild ducks, geese, sandhill and whooping cranes, and numerous other game birds, and home to longhorn cattle, deer, and wolves. Even now as the prairie has seen dramatic growth over the past 40 years, you will find birds, cattle and deer still roaming the plains along the stretch of I-10 towards San Antonio. While looking from the outside in, Katy has become a large metropolis with shopping, hospitals and renowned KISD school district, you won’t find anything sweeter than the fight in the fans of Katy Football. From Old Town Katy to the outskirts of Cinco Ranch there is a home and school choice for anyone who wants to make this their hometown. Connected north and south by the Grand Parkway and East and West by I-10, commuting has become easier to get from downtown or to The Woodlands. The largest and most well-known Community is Cinco Ranch and has a plethora of amenities to choose from.
